delete_rule¶

Permanently deletes a Rule. You can’t delete a
Ruleif it’s still used in anyWebACLobjects or if it still includes any predicates, such asByteMatchSetobjects.If you just want to remove a
Rulefrom aWebACL, use UpdateWebACL.To permanently delete a
Rulefrom AWS WAF, perform the following steps:Update the
Ruleto remove predicates, if any. For more information, see UpdateRule.Use GetChangeToken to get the change token that you provide in the
ChangeTokenparameter of aDeleteRulerequest.Submit a
DeleteRulerequest.

Request Syntax
response = client.delete_rule( RuleId='string', ChangeToken='string' )

RuleId (string) –
[REQUIRED]
The
RuleIdof the Rule that you want to delete.RuleIdis returned by CreateRule and by ListRules.ChangeToken (string) –

The value returned by the most recent call to GetChangeToken.
